Dr. Philip L. Fava II
Dr. Philip L. Fava II is a full-time practicing periodontist and implant surgeon in Northeast Philadelphia and Ambler, PA focusing on Surgical Implant Placement, Periodontal Plastic Surgery Procedures, Reconstructive and Regenerative Therapy, LANAP®, LAPIP® and Pinhole® Surgical Technique. Dr. Fava earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in Philadelphia from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine (UPenn) and completed his specialty residency in Periodontics and Masters in Dental Science (MDSc) at the University of Connecticut (UConn). He serves as a peer instructor in the pre-doctoral program at UPenn and has contributed his talents as a clinical instructor at UConn.
Dr. Fava has lectured nationally and internationally on various topics including periodontics, dental implant surgery and practice management. Locally, he is Co-Director of the Philadelphia Tri-State ITI Study Club and leader of two SPEAR Study Clubs. These Study Clubs are dedicated to promoting the “Team Approach” of sharing knowledge and expertise with the objective of constantly improving treatment methods for the benefit of our patients.
Dr. Fava is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology (ITI) of Basel Switzerland. He is President of the Eastern Dental Society and is an Advisory Board member of the SPEAR Masters Education Program and faculty member of the DevRight Speaker Development Series.
Dr. Fava has authored and co-authored articles published in scientific journals including the Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry and frequently contributes to the dental literature in the area of periodontal surgical techniques, dental implants, bone grafting. gingival grafting and protocols for predictable implant placement.
Just one year after his arrival in Philly, Dr. Fava was voted by his peers as “Top Doc” in the prestigious Philadelphia Magazine and every year thereafter.
